The first timeline spans 20-something years: covering the siblings’ childhood – Nina, Jay, Hud and Kit. In this case, I was worried it wouldn’t live up to the quality of “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” and to the hype I’d created in my mind. When I love an author, I’m often scared to read more of their work in case I find myself disappointed. I did experience a moment of hesitation before picking up this book. I purchased two of Reid’s books: “Daisy Jones & The Six” (which is high on my physical TBR list) and “Malibu Rising”. So, whilst popping into a WHSmith in Berwick-upon-Tweed (to buy a scratchcard for my ever optimistic partner), I couldn’t resist the draw of the Taylor Jenkins Reid book shrine before me. Reading period: 11th March 2023 – 6th April 2023 Why “Malibu Rising”?Įarlier this year, I listened to “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” – falling in love with Evelyn and the writings of Taylor Jenkins Reid.
